Celebrating a Three-Peat!

I want to share some great news that is years in the making. But first, let me take a step back to where this began. In 2014 I chose to buy a venerable market research company, Leo J. Shapiro. Its founder and namesake lived at the industry’s forefront, shaping the practice and sharpening the impact of market research to improve the fortunes of business. It was the perfect foundation from which to launch the next evolution of market research.

My vision…be the most innovative insights and inspirations company in the world. To bring new ideas and approaches that bridge the gap between intellect and actionability. To combine the power of human and artificial intelligence to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. To go beyond “what” and “so what” to get clients the “now what” so that insights become exciting opportunities rather than just informative. To borrow a phrase, we wanted to “put a dent” in the MR universe.    

It started with a new model centered around teams of credentialed social scientists and experienced marketing professionals armed with inventive methodologies and top-flight technology to solve problems. Who know time is the enemy and have no tolerance for wasting a moment of it. 

After several years of pushing, prodding and progressing, we hit a major milestone in 2018, cracking the top-20 most innovative market research companies list in Greenbook’s Global GRIT Report. That just made us hungrier, so we kept working harder and smarter. That stick-to-itiveness resulted in us repeating that success in 2019.

So, what about 2020? Well, we and another Chicago-based enterprise (i.e., the Chicago Bulls) now have one other thing in common; we both delivered a three-peat. Yes, I am proud to announce that our clients and colleagues once again voted us as the 14th most innovative market research agency in the world in Greenbook’s 2020 Global GRIT Report. Plus, we ranked #2 in terms of qualitative research excellence and #6 for our strategic consulting capabilities, beating out the likes of McKinsey and Deloitte.

We are thrilled to have earned this recognition, one that validates our philosophical and operating model. One that fuels our thought leadership in Pharma, Healthcare, CPG and Home Improvement. One that is a testament to having a powerful vision and relentlessly executing against it. One that reinforces our “1% rule,” using every day as an opportunity to do things a percent better than the day before.
